It all started early 2000's when as I was living in rural Ireland for 6 months. A magical land with magical people. Hence the name Children of Danu (Tuatha Dé Danann) who where ancient mythical supernatural race in Irish mythology.
This land and mythology gave me the inspiration to start this project.
However, a few years later I went to Norway on a holiday. The inspiration I felt in Norway was substantially stronger compared to Ireland, seeing the Nordic fjords, mountains and culture. It fitted me better as a person. But I didn't change the name, because Ireland and Irish mythology still inspires me aswell.
The first album is called Green, you know, Ireland, released in 2004. Partly inspired by the Norwegian culture and nature, it has mostly been written inspired by Ireland. Even though the more typical Arctic Ambient of Scandinavia is very prominent in the sound. And that sound would take over the future of C.O.D.

The second album Blue, released in 2012, was mostly written in Norway, while on holiday there. At least the basic ideas. Made on limited equipment (an old laptop and a cheap field recorder) and very much inpired by the landscapes and culture of rural Norway.
I was staying mostly in an old farm in Budal (Midtre Gauldal, Trønderlag) but also traveled around the west coast.
Back home, in the better equipt studio, these ideas developped into finished songs.

After years of setbacks, not been able to find a job that could pay the high rent in Amsterdam, loosing my house, a broken longterm relationship and on top of that, a burn out, I haven't been able to make much music for years. In 2015, I decided it was time for me to pack my bags and move to Norway. Here I had to start from scratch, but it has been the best move I made in my life.
Now I lived in the land of my inspirations and the 3rd album of Children of Danu is finnaly out, July 30, 2020.
"Clouds" is fully inspired by Norway and the Scandinavian nature and culture, fjords, mountains, forrests but certainly also the people.
